Dr. Mita Chakrabarty is our Principal Coordinator in Socio-Economics.

About Dr. Mita Chakrabarty

A Life-Member of the Indian National Confederation and Academy of Anthropologists (INCAA), she is our company’s senior expert for conducting socio-economic surveys and studies for all Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and social needs assessment studies and reports.

With a core expertise and passion for Anthropology, she devoted her entire career to the Indian Museum of Calcutta – the largest museum in India and the ninth oldest museum in the world. There, she started off as a Gallery Assistant for the museum in 1984, and after 35 years, retired as the Deputy Keeper & In-Charge of the museum’s Anthropology section. Post retirement, she worked for a while at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture (RMIC) in Kolkata as an educator of Anthropology.

She was awarded a doctorate degree in Anthropology from the University of Calcutta in 1996 for her research work in ethnography.
