About Partha Mandal

Shri Partha Mandal is the Deputy Director (Mine Planning) of Novomine India Private Limited. He has around 33 years of experience in the Indian coal mining sector - having started out in 1990 at Eastern Coalfields Limited’s (ECL) Rajmahal OCP in West Bengal, he went on become the Assistant Manager before moving to CMPDIL’s RI-I in Asansol, wherefrom he retired as Chief Manager in late December, 2023 after preparing and getting approvals for over ten Project Reports and twelve OC mining schemes/plans. An alumni of the 1987 batch of the prestigious Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST), Shibpur (erstwhile “Bengal Engineering and Science University”), where he graduated with a degree in Mining Engineering, he is an expert of integrated geology and mine planning operations for coal mines in India using GEOVIA Minex software. He also holds a First Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Coal) granted by the Director General of Mines Safety.
